Frequently Misspelled or Misused Words

discreet/discrete

Discrete means "separate". The individual resistors, diodes, etc. of a computer PC board are called discrete components because each one has a single purpose. Discreet means without drawing attention. If you were to buy something illegal you wouldn't want to draw attention to yourself, so you'd do it discreetly. These two words are not interchangeable. In the game people usually want "discreet".

than/then

Than is used in comparisons, like this: "I would rather die than pay a bill early", or "Better late than never", or "Fred is taller than Joe".

Then refers to a specific time. For example:

This Simelan word is used to address another member of the same Householding you are a member of. It is often completely butchered spelling-wise in the game. Whatever you do, don't enter it into your spell checker wrong!

The name of the art competition is another Simelan tripper-upper.
