![]() An UpdateFor example: Zoe was promoted at work, and is now an Information Officer. This means that she does exactly the same things that she use to do, but now it's part of her job description, and not just something extra she did. She also gets paid more, but has to work a few extra hours each week. But before we had time to enjoy that, some things got upset at work and there was a sudden change in management. Zoes system got all out of whack with the stress of it, the my system got out of whack in sympathy (actually it was from the stress of putting up with a Farris Channel in stress!). Zoe eventually went off work for a week due to stress, and we "rested". Actually we seem to have forgotten how to rest, but have promised ourselves that we will relearn that skill – as soon as life lets up a little to allow us the time! During all this a friend from the US moved over. Royce is a Gen – my first Gen friend!!! He is over here doing his PHD in Art. He isn't an artist himself, he will be the curator of a gallery, or something like that. He is organising a show for 2002 which will have art from all around the world in it. It will tour Australia. The topic is "With and Without You – Art in the Age of Aids". As well as running Royce around getting him somewhere to live and buying furniture etc, I have also been getting ready for my first art show. The Sportsman Hotel asked me to have a show there for an event they are having to raise money for Aids research, so I have been very busy painting away and making frames and framing. Royce has been very helpful with his advice on that! The event is this Sunday, and Zoe is also going to perform at it. I also did one painting specifically for the event and donated it and it will be auctioned off at the end of the night. I'm taking it over tomorrow so that they can display it. I'll try to have some photos taken of everything, they are mostly too big to scan. Garth has been spending much time with us – still no sign of changeover. Last night Allison came with us to Karaoke. Allison, for those of you who may not know her, is a Tigue Channel – so lovely and calm!!!! I just adore her. It's so refreshing to have a Channel around who is capable of looking after themselves!!! (Oops! Did I say that? I hope Zoe doesn't read this!)
